How we handle your information
Supporters trust us with their name and email. Here is exactly what we do — and do not do — with them.
What we collect
When you join the briefing list or become a supporter, we collect your email address, optionally your name, and a tag recording which form you signed up through. That is all. We do not ask for — and do not want — anything else.
The “I sent my message” counter on the Take Action page stores only which campaign was clicked and when. We never record your IP address with your click; a short-lived abuse limiter uses it in server memory only, and it is never written to our database or tied to any campaign.
How we use it
- To send you NCI briefings, research, and action alerts by email.
- To count our supporters. When we cite the size of our community — to lawmakers, in print, anywhere — we report aggregate numbers only.
We will never publish your name, share it with another organization, or attach it to a public list without your explicit, separate permission. We do not sell or rent supporter information to anyone.
Leaving the list
Every email we send will include an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also ask us to delete your information entirely at any time via the contact page, and we will.
